CAPSU Tapaz Tour
Center of Academic Excellence Delivering Quality Service to All.
"Pag Abi-Abi: A Welcome Program for SEA Student-Teacher" was the beginning for me to start new activities at Tapaz. After the warm welcome, Danieca and Hannah, 4th year students, took me on a tour of CapSU Tapaz. They showed, explained and introduced me to all of the family of CapSU Tapaz, and this is how it went.
Capiz State University (CapSU) is the only one state university in Capiz Province, Western Visayas Region. Before becoming CapSU, there was a history of unifying several universities into one until finally CapSU was formed.
President Ferdinand E. Marcos signed Batas Pambansa Bilang 91 on December 4, 1980, which merged the Mambusao Agricultural and Technical College (MATEC) in Brgy. Burias, Mambusao Municipality and Capiz Agricultural and Fishery School (CAFS) in Brgy. Bailan, Pontevedra Municipality to become the Panay State Polythecnic College (PSPC). The integration of Capiz Institute of Technology in Roxas City on October 25, 1999 and Sigma College of Science and Technology in Sigma, Capiz on December 19, 2000, paved the way for the conversion of the state college into a state university. Thus, with the signing by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo of Republic Act No. 9273 on March 21, 2004, PSPC was converted into CapSU.

This statue of carabao symbolizes the agriculture department.

All activities at CapSU Tapaz start from the building known as administration. This building seems to be the core of CapSU Tapaz.
In this administration building, there are many offices and rooms that always busy every work days. Those are office of the satellite college director, HR office, extension office, conference room, supply office, planning office, research office, registrar office, medical/dental office, clinic, and many more. But even though they're so busy doing administration in CapSU Tapaz, they're so kind, humble, and welcome to everyone including me everytime I met them there.
CapSU Tapaz has a lot of classrooms to support lecture activities. These classrooms are equipped with monitor to help lecturers teach by utilizing technology during lectures.
There is a big gymnasium to support students outdoor activities such as sports, dance, rehearsal, or as a place for big events, such as my welcome program.
For agriculture department, there is a crop land for planting various kinds of plants as well as a place for learning and practicums.
There is also a library and digital library for students to find some references, or just hangout to read some books.
A van as a main transportation for lecturers, employees, or certain students to go to other campuses or satellite colleges.
School canteen, Supreme Student Council office, yard, garden, CRs, etc.
I also met a lot of CapSU Tapaz students during the tour. I took photos with them.
After a long tour, I, Danieca and Hannah went to the last room, Maam Arlene's office. We finished the tour by took a photo with Maam Arlene together.
